Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy to enhance our ability to attract, develop, and retain a highly qualified and motivated workforce.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all facility operations, including building engineering, space planning, capital budgets, and maintenance.
  • Lead and foster a positive organizational culture that supports employee engagement, development, and productivity.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring they operate in a fiscally prudent manner and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to HR and facilities compliance.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives to promote inclusion and equity within the workplace.
  • Provide strategic direction for leadership and staff professional development and coaching to support continued learning opportunities and growth.
  • Oversee the strategic direction of talent acquisition initiatives to ensure a diverse and highly qualified workforce.
  • Establish clear and consistent workplace protocols and practices that foster belonging, emphasize service excellence, and optimize productivity.
  • Develop and manage an integrated and effective HR technology strategy, leveraging systems and platforms to effectively deliver and communicate programs and services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive HR leadership work experience.
  • Experience supervising staff and leading change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with leaders, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a fair and impartial manner.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker, with the ability to solve problems, execute initiatives, and align HR initiatives with the AAP's mission, values, and strategic goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or SPHR, SHRM-CP certification.
  • Experience in non-profit management.
