Job Description

MMS Group is a leading provider of property management services, dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions to our clients. We are seeking an experienced Compliance Specialist to join our team and support our mission to provide excellent service to our clients and their residents.

The Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that our properties comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and program requirements. This includes verifying income, assets, and medical expenses for program participants, processing applications and information received from property managers, and maintaining accurate records in OneSite.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rental assistance and affordable housing programs, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to work harmoniously with other employees and maintain the confidentiality of tenants and landlords.

Responsibilities

  • Process eligible households for rental assistance and affordable housing programs
  • Verify income, assets, medical or unusual expenses, and assisted dwelling information
  • Maintain participant contact by phone and mail
  • Perform annual reexaminations and compute interim rent changes
  • Complete all work according to established Multifamily Management Services procedures
  • Establish, maintain, and update various logs and books related to the orderly maintenance of records
  • Resolve program abuse allegations and review public records
  • Prepare monthly reports and attend meetings as necessary

Requirements

  • Three years' experience with low-income, senior, or housing-related programs
  • Certified COS, TCS, MORS, BOS, CMH, or AHM (preferred)
  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of rental assistance and affordable housing programs
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation
  • Proven written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
