POSITION OVERVIEW:
The inpatient pharmacy associate operates under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist, providing essential support in the preparation and distribution of medications for patients. Responsibilities include receiving and processing medication orders, inputting data into the pharmacy management system, preparing and labeling medications for dispensing, and delivering them to various patient care locations. Additionally, the technician is responsible for maintaining the medication inventory in dispensing areas, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and processing medication charges for services provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must possess a Pharmacy Technician License issued by the State of Michigan. A minimum of 6 months of experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred. Proficiency in using a computer keyboard with a typing speed of approximately 25 words per minute is necessary. The role demands the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals, often in high-pressure situations, while demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
