Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our pediatric nursing team, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing educational programs to improve professional practice and patient care outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


• Prioritize department and hospital needs, aligning initiatives with community, state, national, and international standards to address practice gaps

• Assess knowledge, skill, and practice gaps within the macrosystem, differentiating between practice gaps, performance issues, and process/system issues

• Develop realistic, achievable outcomes in collaboration with key stakeholders and subject matter experts

• Design and implement educational activities to address practice gaps, incorporating theories of learning, behavioral change, and motivation

• Utilize current evidence-based education guidelines during implementation of educational programs, ensuring continuous improvement and quality care


Qualifications


• Master's degree in Nursing required

• At least two years of experience in a clinical, leadership, or education role in nursing required

• At least five years of experience in an acute care hospital setting in a pediatric nursing professional development role preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required
