The AirPods System Hardware team is composed of outstanding electrical engineers who are responsible for developing and implementing electronic solutions through close collaboration with various teams, including industrial design, product design, technology, and manufacturing.

The compact nature of these products challenges us to innovate across all facets of product development, including advanced physical architectures, new RF technologies, and highly efficient integrated circuit development.

We are a diverse group of electrical engineers passionate about audio, music, and product innovation.

Job Responsibilities:


We are looking for dedicated engineers and technical leaders who will take charge of system hardware development. Responsibilities include:

  • Driving product architectures
  • Overseeing PCB and flex design
  • Influencing optimized system validation plans
  • Reviewing manufacturing test requirements
  • Prototype bring-up and testing
  • Data analysis and troubleshooting

Some travel to support manufacturing processes may be required.

Experienced team members will have the opportunity to lead technical aspects of product development, collaborating closely with peers or managing small teams.


Minimum Qualifications:

Key Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as an electrical engineer in designing high-volume products from concept to production
  • Proficiency in board and flex designs, including schematic and layout, with a strong ability to meet timelines and deliver high-quality designs
  • Expertise in prototype bring-up, electrical measurements, debugging, and functional verification
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, covering both analog and digital concepts such as power and data converters, amplifiers, high-speed serial and memory interfaces, digital logic, RF/wireless, and signal integrity
  • Experience collaborating with technology, software, reliability, manufacturing, and operations teams is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Experience leading or managing small teams of four to five individuals is advantageous

Preferred Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience in the wearable or consumer electronics industry preferred
