Role Overview

The IT Technician will be responsible for:

  • Resolving support calls within established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Providing technical assistance to end-users, diagnosing and resolving technical challenges.
  • Setting up and managing user accounts, permissions, and security protocols.
  • Monitoring and optimizing computer systems and networks for performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with IT team members to enforce IT policies and procedures.
  • Documenting IT processes and troubleshooting methods for knowledge sharing.
  • Conducting training sessions on new equipment for staff.
  • Adapting to flexible shifts as per departmental needs, including weekend support.
  • Providing end-of-shift reports detailing issues encountered and project updates.
  • Possessing basic networking knowledge, including VLAN changes and connectivity troubleshooting.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as an IT Technician level 2 or a similar role.
  • Advanced understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Experience with server management, virtualization, and network device configuration.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
  • Experience in the automotive sector or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of automotive-specific software applications and systems.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
