About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Design Engineer II to join our Data Center Power & Control Division in Canonsburg, PA. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the conception, design, development, and verification of new products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create innovative, customizable power distribution busway systems and components.
  • Use a systematic, analytically-based approach to concepting, designing, and testing.
  • Design and develop mechanical systems utilizing various manufacturing methods.
  • Utilize 2D and 3D CAD systems to perform detailed design analysis.
  • Provide mechanical materials and tooling cost studies.
  • Compile requirements, functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Participate in mechanical design reviews with other engineering, manufacturing, and marketing personnel.
  • Work with Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering personnel during product conceptualization through product launch.
  • Assist in directing the testing required, verifying product performance, system integration, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Schedule, track, and maintain the mechanical portion of assigned project schedules.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure product manufacturability.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with other designers.
Requirements
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent years of experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience designing systems or components for mid-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with integrated system design, including mechanical simulation, 3D modeling, DFM, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be highly collaborative to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • High level of self-initiative and dependability.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10%.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office tools.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and principles.
