Job Summary

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Compliance and Review Unit, you will play a critical role in promoting safety, protecting the environment, and conserving resources offshore.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to write scientifically defensible analyses for NEPA documents.
  • Identify, interpret, and analyze environmental data and processes affected by OCS exploration and development.
  • Apply environmental laws and regulations to analyze potential impacts to natural and cultural resources from development activities.
  • Conduct office compliance verification reviews of operational reports and industry's Post Activity Submittals.
  • Prepare program-related documents, including Mitigation Effectiveness Reports, Environmental Inspection Reports, and Compliance Verification Reports.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the minimum qualification requirements, which include a combination of education and specialized experience. You must also be a U.S. citizen and pass a background investigation.
