Patient Safety Specialist

We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care at Ochsner Health, and we are seeking a dedicated Patient Safety Attendant to join our team.

This role plays a vital part in maintaining patient safety and providing basic patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

The Patient Safety Attendant will work collaboratively with a licensed nurse and Patient Care Technicians to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing constant observation of patients and notifying nursing personnel of any changes in behavior or status
  • Intervening as needed to maintain patient safety and prevent patient elopement
  • Communicating effectively with co-workers, patients, family, and visitors
  • Performing non-clinical duties as assigned

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training
