Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Oak View Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the culinary team, overseeing the production of meals, and ensuring that all food products meet our high standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of culinary employees, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Oversee the production of meals, ensuring that they are prepared on time, to the correct specifications, and meet our quality standards.
  • Control labor costs through effective scheduling and cross-training of staff.
  • Ensure that all food products meet our standards of quality and consistency, and that all food safety and sanitation regulations are followed.
  • Collaborate with the sales and events teams to create and execute menus for tastings and sampling events.
  • Coordinate the storage, maintenance, and repair of all kitchen equipment.
  • Arrange and manage kitchen staff skills training and development, including departmental orientation of new employees.
  • Maintain a positive and compliant employee relations climate, and ensure that all staff are aware of workplace expectations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of kitchen management experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
  • Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required by state or local government.
  • Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program.
  • Technical proficiency and experience demonstrating verifiable knowledge of food preparation methods.
  • Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities, including co-workers, subordinates, guests, and purveyors in a variety of work situations.
Working Conditions

The Executive Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a variable event-driven schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and long hours. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team-oriented environment, be self-directed, and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.
