Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in managing fixed asset accounting, executing monthly journal entries, analyzing accounts receivable, and conducting accounts payable reviews, alongside general ledger account evaluations.

The selected candidate will adhere to a hybrid work schedule, with a mandatory in-office presence on designated days.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare standard monthly journal entries.
  • Review non-standard revenue agreements.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly accounts receivable reports.
  • Investigate issues related to accounts receivable cash applications.
  • Conduct monthly analyses of general ledger accounts for prepaid expenses, miscellaneous receivables, accrued liabilities, other income, lease activities, and additional assigned areas.
  • Assist in the preparation for annual financial statement and Single audits.
  • Reconcile operational bank accounts.
  • Input monthly fixed asset additions into the fixed asset management system.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries for fixed assets.
  • Develop fixed asset tracking documentation and secure necessary approvals.
  • Reconcile fixed asset accounts between the fixed asset system and the general ledger.
  • Complete federal procurement compliance documentation and liaise with purchasers for required approvals.
  • Maintain records for new vendor excluded party reviews.
  • Serve as a backup for the preparation of monthly and quarterly state and city tax returns.
  • Review invoices processed for payment.
  • Collaborate with the accounts payable and IT teams to resolve procurement software-related issues.
  • Act as a backup for preparing, reviewing, and distributing monthly cost center reports.
  • Support processing of intercompany billings.
  • Assist with accounting and intra-company billings for core lab activities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Single Audits is advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $79,680 to $125,100.
