Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in managing fixed asset accounting, conducting monthly journal entries, and performing accounts receivable analysis and reporting. This position also involves accounts payable review and general ledger account analysis.

The selected candidate will be expected to adhere to a hybrid work schedule, with specific in-office requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of standard monthly journal entries.
  • Review of non-standard revenue arrangements.
  • Compilation of monthly and quarterly accounts receivable reports.
  • Investigation of cash application issues related to accounts receivable.
  • Preparation of monthly general ledger account analyses for various accounts including prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities.
  • Assistance in the preparation for annual financial statement and Single audits.
  • Reconciliation of operating bank accounts.
  • Data entry for monthly fixed asset additions into the fixed asset system.
  • Preparation and posting of monthly journal entries for fixed assets.
  • Creation of fixed asset tracking forms and securing authorized signatures.
  • Reconciliation of fixed asset accounts between the fixed asset system and the general ledger.
  • Completion of federal procurement compliance forms and coordination with purchasers for authorized signatures.
  • Maintenance of records for new vendor excluded party reviews.
  • Backup support for the preparation of monthly and quarterly state and city tax returns.
  • Review of invoices processed for payment.
  • Collaboration with the A/P and IT teams to resolve procurement software issues.
  • Backup for the preparation, review, and distribution of monthly cost center reports.
  • Backup for processing intercompany billings.
  • Backup for accounting and intra-company billings for core lab activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Single Audits is advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
Compensation

Annual salary range: $79,680 to $125,100.
