Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Transitional Cardiac Unit, you will provide care in a 12-bed telemetry unit, typically maintaining a patient ratio of 1:3.
Your role will involve delivering high-acuity care to diverse cardiac and medical patients. You will also provide both clinical and administrative support, including TPA infusion, sheath arterial management, and care for patients requiring cardiac surgery.
Your primary responsibility will be to educate and instruct patients and their families.
As a member of the TCU team, you will administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
You will interpret telemetry monitoring strips, identify cardiac rhythms, and implement interventions for dysrhythmias.
Our nursing team is dedicated to monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions using computerized documentation systems.
You will coordinate care across disciplines, ensuring comprehensive patient care and addressing discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a Compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
