About the Role

The Patient Care Associate is a vital member of the clinical care team, responsible for providing patient care and support activities that promote patient-focused care within the Specialty Service.

This role supports the registered nurse in patient care activities, including assisting patients with activities of daily living, collecting specimens, and performing procedures, as well as maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with changing, securing valuables, and reviewing unit rules and regulations
  • Participate in patient admission and orientation, obtaining and recording data
  • Assist with preparation and updating of the nursing care plan and interdisciplinary treatment team plan
  • Perform selected direct care duties, including therapeutic interventions, vital sign taking, and specimen collection
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years current experience as a PCA/CNA preferred or Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, Finger stick and EKG skills, Computer skills

BLS required (American Heart Association)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients and families
