Job Summary

Thatcher Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for managing inventory, scheduling production, planning production, and purchasing materials for our assigned production area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Materials Resource Planning: Ensure the right amount of raw materials is stocked to meet demand, maintaining optimal inventory levels in alignment with our business plan.
  • Finished Goods Order Planning: Schedule production to meet customer due dates and expectations, ensuring timely delivery of products.
  • Inventory Analysis: Resolve variances and perform root cause analysis on recurring issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Vendor Management: Source, negotiate, and select vendors that meet our quality, price, and delivery requirements, developing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Obtain and store COA, BOL, TDS, SDS, and other documents unique to orders placed and products investigated/procured, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication and Negotiation Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, negotiating contracts and resolving issues.
  • ERP Experience: Prior experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including batch transactions and inventory management.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Education and Certifications: High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent, with preferred qualifications including Basic Lean Six Sigma training, APICS CPIM training, and a Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
