Position Summary
The Skilled Construction Technician II is expected to work autonomously across various trades such as rough framing, insulation, drywall installation, painting, and finish carpentry, overseeing projects from inception to completion. This role requires effective communication of directives from management to the team and regular interaction with Superintendents and the Operations Manager. The position reports directly to the Regional Operations Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Executing framing, drywall, painting, and finish carpentry tasks for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Initiating basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks as specified in project documentation.
- Maintaining and enhancing trade skills through ongoing training and education, while implementing best practices in all work performed.
- Regularly communicating with supervisors and team members to ensure awareness of project timelines, milestones, and potential challenges.
- Providing comprehensive written updates to the Superintendent or Operations Manager regarding project status, delays, and any issues encountered.
- Interpreting project plans and instructions from Superintendents or Operations Managers and relaying them to the crew.
- Carrying out various tasks as assigned by Project Directors and the Operations Manager to facilitate timely project completion.
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and promoting safety protocols within the team; providing education and training as necessary.
- Participating in safety meetings and training sessions as required.
- Completing necessary documentation, including timecards and expense reports, in an efficient and timely manner.
- Embodying and promoting the core values of Restoration Management in daily activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Restoration Management expects all employees to uphold and apply the following core values: Team Spirit, Integrity, Quality, and Humility. The following qualifications are essential for the Skilled Construction Technician II role:
- 3-5 years of experience in a construction setting, with a focus on drywall, basic electrical and plumbing work, painting, and framing.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
- Familiarity with fundamental safety protocols.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in operating machinery and power tools.
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Ability to provide personal transportation and basic hand tools.
- OSHA 10 and CPR certifications are preferred.
- Successful completion of respiratory physical and fit testing.
- Proficiency in English.
Working Environment
The working conditions for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, standing, reaching, and squatting.
- Availability for overtime, after-hours responses, and weekend work as needed.
