Job Summary:

Wellmore of Tega Cay is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RN MDS Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage clinical staff and therapy to ensure proper documentation and optimal reimbursement throughout the resident's stay.
• Research and analyze medical information to justify skilled services and reimbursement requests.
• Meet regulatory requirements for timely certifications and re-certifications, and sign all orders as necessary.
• Collaborate with Managed Care organizations to ensure compliance with their requirements.
• Conduct daily meetings with therapy and line staff to discuss progress and address any concerns.
• Monitor nursing documentation and provide education and training as needed to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the resident assessment process, following Minimum Data Set requirements.
• Ensure proper ADL documentation and provide education and training as needed.
• Audit and analyze MDS documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Submit MDS documents in a timely manner.
• Oversee and schedule resident care planning meetings.
• Assist with floor duties as needed.
• Participate in and attend all required in-service training and education sessions.

Requirements:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Training in Medical Records regulations is desired.
• Understanding of diagnosis coding and working knowledge of prescription drugs, therapy practices, and bio-psycho-social sciences.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Ability to meet or exceed the company's attendance and punctuality standards.
• Ability to use Electronic Records and miscellaneous software and office equipment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

This position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing. The individual must use proper body mechanics to assist residents in their daily living. No travel is expected, although occasional travel may be required for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.
