We are seeking an experienced Art Lead to join our team at Amazon Games. As an Art Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the visual direction of our games and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring our creative vision to life.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a clear visual direction for our games, ensuring consistency across all platforms and formats.
- Collaborate with game development teams to assess and design high-quality art assets, including characters, environments, and UI elements.
- Provide guidance on art style, tone, and overall aesthetic, ensuring alignment with Amazon's brand and creative vision.
- Work closely with external developers to guide Amazon's thinking and ensure seamless integration of art assets.
- Translate stakeholder feedback into clear visual directions for external agencies and developing partners.
- Help raise and set new standards for the highest-quality execution of in-game art, ensuring timely delivery and meeting key milestones.
- Take a high-level strategic view while also diving deep to execute great game art, leading by example and inspiring the team.
- Provide direction on concept art to be adapted and thoughtfully carried across various marketing channels.
- Evaluate challenges and effectively communicate and/or escalate guidelines, accountability, and resolution progress to partners and leadership.
- Leverage data-driven customer insights and deep knowledge of formats and placements to make creative decisions.
- 10+ years of experience in the Games or Interactive Entertainment industry, launching games for wide audiences, casual, and core.
- Expertise in game development toolset and pipelines.
- Experience working with third-party developers to build great content.
- Experience creating and documenting high-quality visual guidelines and development strategies.
- Has shipped games across various platforms on time and on budget.
- A portfolio that demonstrates process and capabilities in crafting compelling game visuals.
- Experience communicating with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements and describe products.
- Experience presenting to all levels – from senior to executive.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience creating end-to-end game experiences from the concept stage to shipping.
- Experience working with third-party IPs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience collaborating across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with digital asset management tools and leading process improvements.
- Experience building games in a wide variety of genres, for a variety of platforms, including PC and console.
