We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Asbestos and Lead Abatement Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental assessment, sampling, design, monitoring, and abatement, with a focus on asbestos and lead-containing materials.

Triangle DeCon Services Inc. is a boutique full-service real estate advisory firm specializing in project development and construction management for private developers and public organizations in Southern California. Our team consists of licensed Professional Engineers (PE), certified Project Management Professionals (PMP), certified professionals with the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA), licensed General Building Contractors, and other industry designations.

We provide entitlement, development, design, procurement, construction management, project management, expert witness, and litigation support services on various building types. Our experienced team has successfully delivered facilities for public school districts, college districts, universities, commercial developers, hospitality owners, multinational CM/PM consultants, and other valued clients.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain open communication with central and regional existing departments in Facilities (Maintenance & Operations, Project Execution, and Central Design Management Group) to provide technical support related to asbestos and lead issues.
  • Prepare site assessments (Phase 1), abatement designs (Phase 2), and reviews of environmental consultants' Phase 1, 2, and 3 reports for accuracy.
  • Survey sites to recommend the best method to mitigate the abatement of asbestos and lead-containing building materials.
  • Prepare job estimates for project assessment, design, and monitoring.
  • Plan the repair, removal, disposal, or encapsulation of asbestos-containing building materials and abatement or in-place management of lead-based paint on structures and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct environmental project monitoring during construction to ensure compliance with applicable laws, project specifications, safety regulations, and established work practices.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents that occur on or near the school grounds during asbestos/lead-related projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of full-time paid professional construction experience on projects involving environmental (asbestos/lead) assessment, sampling, design, monitoring, and abatement.
  • Certification from the State of CA as Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) or Certified Asbestos Consultant.
  • Possession of AHERA asbestos course certificates, EPA Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting Certification, and CA Department of Health Lead certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with additional experience compensating for education.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
