Overview

The role involves overseeing the daily functions of the testing team, ensuring adherence to company standards, industry regulations, and client specifications. The position includes participation in the strategic planning for test equipment acquisitions and the development or modification of testing protocols. Additionally, it provides essential technical support to engineering, manufacturing, sales teams, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the production schedule and create employee work schedules for the Testing Department to guarantee timely completion of product evaluations.
  2. Collaborate with the Director of Quality Assurance and Supply Chain Management to promote a safer workplace through effective safety engineering measures. Provide training focused on employee and visitor safety.
  3. Ensure that testing equipment is maintained in optimal condition.
  4. Coordinate preventive maintenance to reduce downtime caused by unexpected equipment failures.
  5. Stay informed about the latest technologies and industry-standard testing requirements.
  6. Suggest enhancements and upgrades to testing equipment to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  7. Adhere to the Quality Assurance program and lead or assist in root cause analysis of failures and implementation of corrective actions.
  8. Investigate and resolve issues with testing equipment promptly, recognizing the critical nature of minimizing downtime in production.
  9. Contribute to the development of alternative methods and procedures to address challenges and adapt to evolving market demands.
  10. Assist in resolving customer disputes as needed.
  11. Ensure measurement accuracy through the establishment and maintenance of a robust equipment calibration program.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Duties

  1. Support team members on project-based assignments.
  2. Consistently work in a safe manner in accordance with company environmental, health, and safety policies.

Qualifications

  1. Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field; or four to ten years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Language Proficiency: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical manuals, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  3. Mathematical Skills: Proficient in applying mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, exponents, logarithms, and quadratic equations.
  4. Computer Skills: Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software, with a willingness and capability to learn new software necessary for operating high voltage testing and measurement equipment.
