Maintenance Mechanic 2

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic 2 to join our team at Fairmont Orchid, a luxury resort located on the majestic Kohala Coast of Hawai'i Island. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our resort's mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Identify and troubleshoot system deficiencies, and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all major equipment, and maintain a properly stocked storeroom with necessary supplies and parts.
- Obtain price quotations and fill out requisitions for parts and supplies, and apply necessary precautions to ensure hotel safety and hygiene standards.
- Be well-versed in hotel fire and life safety/emergency procedures, and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- Service-oriented with an eye for detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and energetic, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Must have working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and hot water generation systems, including devices such as pressure regulators, solenoid valves, gas valves, electrical relays, etc.
- Must be knowledgeable of OSHA workplace safety standards, including PPE, Lock Out Tag Out, Ladder Safety, HAZCOM, and similar.
- Visual ability to read manufacturer's instructions, schematics, and blueprints, and ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work under harsh weather conditions, including heat, wind, and rain, and to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
