Medical Assistant

Catholic Health Service is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by working closely with our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepares exam rooms for use, adhering to established protocols, including disinfection, stocking, and verifying vaccinations and medications.
• Prepares patient charts with pre-visit planning, reviewing the next day's schedule and identifying gaps in care.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms, directing patient flow for maximum efficiency.
• Collects and documents patient information, clinical data, and other relevant information, including vital signs, height/weight, allergies, active medication lists, chief complaints, pain screens, and current symptoms.
• Obtains additional data from patients/significant others, EKG/lab/diagnostic test results, and other historical data, reporting findings to providers and recognizing abnormal findings or changes in condition.
• Confirms and clarifies written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
• Collects, prepares, and processes laboratory specimens for on-site and remote-site testing, tracking and entering results in medical records.
Qualifications:
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years of documented medical assistant experience and completion of the CH Medical Assistant Assessment.
• BCLS training and current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Proficiency with care tasks such as phlebotomy, aseptic technique, etc.
