Optometric Assistant

The Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring a great patient experience at Visionworks. This position is responsible for preparing patients for onsite and/or remote examinations, completing pre-exam diagnostic tests, and explaining each step of the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete patient registration and gather pertinent patient information, including medical history and ocular health data, into the electronic medical record (EMR).
Assist onsite doctors with patient care and eye examinations, clearly explaining the preliminary testing process to patients and accurately documenting results in the EMR.
For remote appointments, the Clinical Specialist will assist patients through the remote eye exam process, including pre-testing, specialty testing, and accurately documenting results in the EMR.
Initiate remote technician and doctor video conferencing, and assist in completing additional testing required for a remote exam.
Requirements:
One year of related experience in optical or healthcare.
Medical office/business professionalism required.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Ability to work flexible schedules to meet changing business demands, including traveling to other locations.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to sit, stand, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, pick or pinch, and talk or hear most of the time. The associate is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in this location is moderate (use of computers, printers, and machines).
