Advanced Field Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering support and independent oversight of work associated with installation, testing, and modification of reactor plant systems, components, and safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide engineering support and independent oversight of work associated with installation, testing, and modification of reactor plant systems, components, and safety systems.
- Operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and independently exercise authority to ensure that work is conducted in a safe manner.
- Collaborate with Navy personnel, shipyard engineering, local government representatives, and partner organizations to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to resolve problems and improve performance.
- Provide training and qualification to new employees and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Currently or previously NPE qualified.
- CTE/ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program.
- Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in applying innovative solutions to resolve problems/improve performance.
- Prior Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operational or design experience is desired but not required.
- Strong leadership and mentoring ability.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
- Experience working with US Navy Nuclear Fleet and/or nuclear capable shipyard.
