Position Overview:
The Ohio Society of Association Executives is in search of a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer to collaborate with the board of directors in safeguarding, promoting, and advancing the interests of association management in Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:
Governance:
- Advise and support the board of directors in overseeing the organization.
- Engage fully in discussions of the board, committees, and governance activities.
- Contribute to the formulation of the organization’s strategic plan.
- Provide the board with regular updates, insights, data, analysis, and recommendations to aid in governance and strategic decision-making.
- Develop and propose policies, operational procedures, and amendments to governing documents.
- Organize and execute the organization’s annual business meeting.
- Collaborate with the finance committee and board to develop and manage the annual budget.
- Ensure prudent stewardship of the organization’s assets, including financial resources and intellectual property.

Staff Management:
- Recruit, develop, and oversee professional staff.
- Foster a customer-centric staff culture that encourages innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth within a safe and inclusive environment.

Advocacy:
- Lead advocacy and lobbying initiatives with external partners: oversee research, media outreach, legislative education, and member engagement in advocacy efforts.
- Manage relationships with coalitions and organizations that support advocacy initiatives.

Operations:
- Oversee the office, infrastructure, systems, policies, and procedures necessary for effective administration.
- Ensure high-quality, professional operations for members and chapters.
- Develop and promote additional products, programs, and services.
- Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Engage and supervise vendors and service providers as needed.

Academy Relations:
- Support the growth and development of affiliated academies.
- Provide consulting and development services to boards and staff.
- Ensure compliance with bylaws and operational standards.

Foundation Relations:
- Assist with the annual educational seminar, maintaining its status as a premier event for the association.
- Serve on the foundation’s board of directors.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in a senior executive role.
- Experience in a professional member association is essential, with a preference for candidates with CEO experience.
- Certified Association Executive (CAE) accreditation is a plus.
