Job Title: Associate Chief Nursing Officer

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) plays a pivotal role in promoting the professional practice of nursing at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer(s), the ACNO is responsible for leading and advancing nursing practice, education, research, and evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of nursing strategic plans, annual goals, and objectives.
  • Oversee nursing education, transition to practice, evidence-based practice, nursing research, quality, the Magnet program, and nursing informatics.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to strategically plan, align, and execute nursing's contribution to the organization's mission.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to encourage top-of-licensure practice grounded in the professional practice model.
  • Develop and maintain the Center for Professional Practice and Nursing Excellence across the OSU system.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in nursing or a related field.
  • Current Ohio Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum five years of clinical experience and ten years in a senior leadership role, preferably in an academic medical center.
  • Professional certification in Nursing Administration or clinical practice is desired.
