Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Development Representative to join our team at Mercury Insurance. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our agency force in a designated territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth and profitability in your assigned territory.
  • Provide expert knowledge of Mercury's Personal Lines products, platforms, and services to support our agents.
  • Motivate and inspire agency partners to achieve business growth, retention, and profitability goals.
  • Conduct in-person sales visits and create sales visit plans to drive new business and meet financial goals.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to management on market conditions, service levels, and Company programs.
  • Respond to agent and customer inquiries, comments, and concerns.
  • Participate in advanced studies and training to expand knowledge and contribute to the team.
  • Assist with interviews and training of new employees as needed.
  • Establish and track progress towards semi-annual and annual production goals.
  • Monitor agent production reports, loss ratios, and hold performance discussions to improve performance.
  • Promote products and programs to ensure understanding of Company philosophy, procedures, and practices.
  • Collect competitive intelligence and industry trends to inform management decisions.
  • Attend regional and state meetings, group conventions, and agent-related tradeshows as needed.
  • Interview and recruit agents for new agency appointments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
