Psychiatric Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at HealthEcareers - Client. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with mental health conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop effective treatment strategies.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Tennessee.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, including those with co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric/mental health, A&D, and co-occurring disorders.
  • CPR certification or willingness to become certified.
