EmPATH Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate EmPATH Nurse to join our team at the Helen Ross McNabb Center. As an EmPATH Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Job Summary

The EmPATH Nurse will be responsible for providing direct medical care to clients, including administering medications, obtaining vital signs, and completing electronic and paper charting. You will also participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate with other staff members to ensure seamless care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct medical care to clients, including administering medications and obtaining vital signs.
  • Complete electronic and paper charting in a timely manner.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate with other staff members.
  • Assist with crisis interventions and medical emergencies.
  • Administer intramuscular injections.
Requirements
  • RN or LPN with current Tennessee license and experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
  • BSN or ANA certification as Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of psychiatric medications, diagnoses, treatment modalities, and interventions.
  • Experience in psychiatric nursing and working with special populations preferred.
Work Environment

The EmPATH Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing care to individuals experiencing mental health crises. You will be required to remain awake and alert during your shift and be able to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
