We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to join our team at Sierra Medical Center. As a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to evaluate the utilization and documentation of acute care services.
- Facilitate appropriate physician documentation of care delivered to accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and address documentation gaps and inconsistencies.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve documentation quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide education and training to healthcare staff on documentation best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Education or International Medical Graduate.
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting; critical care, medical/surgical or Emergency Department nursing preferred.
- Prefer CDIS Experience.
- Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
