Job Title: Clinical Nurse IV-CCU

Covenant Health (Tennessee) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse IV-CCU to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Clinical Nurse IV-CCU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Critical Care unit. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to coordinate care planning and ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Correlate patient history and support systems within hospital care/nursing home care.
  • Assess needs of patient and family.
  • Develop and initiate plan of care, involving patient and family.
  • Consistently recommend and execute evidence-based bundles, protocols, and procedural interventions to promote patient safety and reduction of harm events.
  • Evaluate plan of care.
  • Clinical expertise and knowledge is such that individual can resolve complex patient/management/physician problems without supervision.
  • Demonstrate competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
  • Formally trained and acts as Coach for new employees/students; reviews clinical performance of preceptee with unit leader or clinical instructor.
  • Provides six contact hours of educational activities, excluding basic patient education.
  • Contributes to development and evaluation of unit orientation program.
  • Serves as resource to peers and supervises non-licensed caregivers. Takes initiative to intervene to improve patient care and safety as needed.
  • Functions as role model to peers by cross-training to other departments and serving as resource person.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Member of established committee or process improvement team with 75% participation in meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of four (4) years RN experience, three (3) years of which must have been in an Intensive/Critical Care setting.
  • Licensure Requirement: Active licensure from the State of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse. Critical Care Certification (CCRN or equivalent) is required. CPR required.
