Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Support Specialist to join our team at OneBlood. The successful candidate will provide technical and functional support to management in the design, architecture, installation, configuration, performance, monitoring, and security of our Business and Quality Application systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software implementations and support, with a proven track record of identifying, researching, and resolving technical and data problems. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all IT teams to ensure an infrastructure that supports a stable, well-designed, highly available, and properly maintained Business and Quality Applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and configure Business and Quality Application software and associated tools
  • Maintain and enforce Business and Quality Application software governance policies
  • Ensure the integrity and security of Business and Quality Application system data in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
  • Perform and test routine Business and Quality Application system backups and restores
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Business and Quality Application system issues and escalating incidents as necessary and tunes for performance
  • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Recommend and perform software upgrades, patches and reconfigurations
  • Work with all IT teams to ensure an infrastructure that supports a stable, well-designed, highly available, and properly maintained Business and Quality Applications
  • Develop Business and Quality Application system training and documentation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Two (2) or more years of technical experience; software implementations and support; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures required to maintain and integrate database, web and core business application systems
  • Ability to develop and document Business and Quality Application architecture, administration standards, along with other supporting documentation as needed
  • Ability to develop Business and Quality Application system end-user documentation on processes, standards and best practices
  • Internet and Intranet application platforms
  • A basic understanding of network issues and their relation to application and database functions
  • Utility software support tools such as editors, forms design and database query languages
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Skill in operating office equipment
  • Ability to commute with personal transportation
Physical Requirements

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds).
