Job Description

Becker Wright Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager to lead our Service Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the bidding process, ensuring high-quality estimates, and collaborating with our staff to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the bidding process, including attending pre-bid job walks, reviewing estimates, and presenting to the executive team.
  • Optimize competitive bid approach and ensure alignment with company objectives and core focus.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality estimates that align with service department capabilities.
  • Request and review quotes for accuracy to determine confirmed low and best value.
  • Accurately manage and execute all assigned bids while maintaining deadlines.
  • Maintain accountability of assigned bids from concept to construction department handoff.
  • Identify new departmental value-add opportunities and concepts that align with the company's core values and focus.

Requirements:

  • Experience in bidding commercial electrical service projects in the Austin/Centex Market.
  • Valid TDLR journeyman electrician license or better.
  • Confirmed success estimating projects.
  • Proficiency in EBM, Accubid, MS Office, Bluebeam, Sage, and Microsoft Teams ecosystem.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple team members and report to management.
  • Possesses organization, time management, and communication skills consistent with the position.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in on-screen takeoff, with rigorous document management and technical skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to identify sales opportunities within and outside of existing customer networks and present to the team for consideration.
