Job Description:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer, Wired to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, administering, and technically documenting all wired network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of all wired network solutions. You will work closely with our IT staff to resolve complex technical issues and implement best-in-class wired service support across UCSF. This is a full-time position that requires 100% effort. The successful candidate will work primarily in an office environment, with occasional travel required. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices. They will be responsible for managing complex network systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing detailed network designs in a real-world environment. Additionally, they will analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot complex network systems to identify issues and inefficiencies.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design, implement, optimize, administer, and technically document all wired network infrastructure.
  2. Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of all wired network solutions.
  3. Work closely with IT staff to resolve complex technical issues and implement best-in-class wired service support across UCSF.
