Network Asset Manager Job Summary

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a skilled IT Network Asset Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Infrastructure Services department, you will be responsible for managing network refresh and field services projects, ensuring successful delivery of technical services and maintenance across UCSF.

This role involves coordinating with customers and lead technicians, ensuring successful execution or response to customer follow-up, compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of technical issues, budget projections, and asset life cycle management. This position requires advanced expertise in installation, configuration, monitoring, life cycle management, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various network systems, parts, and accessories.

The ideal candidate will have robust knowledge of asset management software or systems, communication infrastructure, including troubleshooting, network installation, system maintenance, and the use of field service management software or systems.

Additionally, you will need to demonstrate experience in monitoring and managing service level agreements (SLAs), excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to establish and advance positive working relationships.

The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $213,200 per year, depending on work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires 50% or more time spent achieving organizational objectives through coordinated achievements of subordinate staff. The incumbent will establish departmental goals and objectives, function with autonomy, manage accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and physical resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage network refresh and field services projects
  • Ensure successful delivery of technical services and maintenance across UCSF
  • Coordinate with customers and lead technicians
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure prompt and efficient resolution of technical issues
  • Monitor and manage service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Demonstrate experience in monitoring and managing SLAs
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of experience/training, in computer science, engineering, computer information systems, etc.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience working in network services, field services, information technology, or network operations
  • Advanced expertise in installation, configuration, monitoring, life cycle management, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various network systems, parts, and accessories
  • Robust knowledge of asset management software or systems
  • Communication infrastructure, including troubleshooting, network installation, system maintenance, and the use of field service management software or systems
