Job Overview
The 'Senior Engineering Technical Manager' will be tasked with delivering technical guidance on comprehensive development and deployment of innovative insurance solutions and functionalities that foster new business avenues and enhance operational efficiencies utilizing DevOps and SAFe Agile methodologies on the Client.
IO Platform and its integration across various business sectors. This position also encompasses managing all integrations and interfaces that support business objectives.
The candidate will lead globally distributed development teams to efficiently deliver products and services.
This role necessitates hands-on expertise in crafting cloud-native applications using open-source technologies, a robust technical foundation, design thinking, seamless execution, strong relationship management, and effective communication skills.
The Senior Engineering Technical Manager will oversee planning, directing, and coordinating medium to large-scale, moderately complex projects; ensuring that objectives are met with high quality, within established timelines, and align with customer and/or business needs.Scope of Responsibilities
You will be accountable for application design and problem-solving, ensuring the development of secure and scalable solutions.
You will engage directly with projects, delving into design and coding.
Mentor Junior Engineers.
Spearhead the end-to-end development, implementation, and integration of new insurance products and packages utilizing Client.
IO Platform.
Collaborate with Product Manager/Owner, Business Analysts, Developers, and enterprise teams to define and deliver optimal application and solution architecture that meets current and future underwriting and policy administration platform requirements.
Lead high-level design, review code, and oversee implementation by development teams.Maintain regular communication as per the established communication plan.
Prepare technical documentation and deliver formal presentations for sprint and system demonstrations.
Leverage an agile-based operating model across multiple Scrum teams.
Manage multiple product implementations concurrently.
Oversee production workloads and serve as a Subject Matter Expert for Level 3 issues.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Extensive IT experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years in the Insurance domain (P&C) with implementations in new business and renewals processes.
At least 3 years of experience in cloud-native application development using Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Causality & Property lines platform/systems implementation is preferred.
Proficiency in technology stacks such as Java, Spring Boot, Camel, Camunda, Drools, XML, CSS, XSLT, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK), Unqork, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
In-depth, hands-on knowledge of Microservices & API Management, Cloud Platforms like Microsoft Azure, and DevOps processes is essential.
Good understanding of Data & Analytics technologies such as Data Lakes, Business Intelligence Tools, Predictive Models, and 3rd Party Data.
Experience in developing REST-based APIs using Open API specifications and/or creating specifications with Swagger.Experience in configuring DevOps continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
Conduct complex troubleshooting of critical problem tickets, resolve defects in existing production software, and provide root-cause analysis.
Hands-on experience with code quality and code coverage tools/frameworks.
Understanding of securing web applications and APIs using OpenID/OAuth2.0 standards.
Experience with caching technologies and search is a plus.
Ability to inspire team members and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure timely delivery.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to meet commitments under pressure.
