Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Maintenance and Utilities to join our team at Civica Rx's Petersburg, VA facility. As a key member of our Engineering Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the reliability, maintenance, and utilities strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance and utilities strategy to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our facility's systems.
- Oversee a site-based team accountable for the development, implementation, and operational compliance of our facility's maintenance and utilities programs.
- Provide technical expertise on Maintenance, Reliability, Facilities, and Compliance standards and provide input on strategy to key business leaders.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Collaborate with key business functions to innovate and develop maintenance & engineering solutions that deliver productivity, quality, and efficiencies that meet and exceed cost improvement targets.
- Attract, develop, and retain a diverse, qualified staff through effective training, succession planning strategies, and ongoing performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable business policies, laws, and regulations, including U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other regulatory requirements.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or similar technical degree is required.
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in utilities and facilities or related roles in the pharmaceutical/FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
- 7+ years of subject matter expertise with GMP Critical Utilities and Facilities.
- Strong knowledge of CMMS and Metrology.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, motivation, team building, communication, and advanced coaching skills that instill a strong sense of mission in a team environment across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in developing departmental budgets and responsibly managing cost centers.
- Excellent project management and time management capabilities, with the ability to partner and influence across a matrixed environment.
- Previous experience in a Sterile Injectables facility.
- Demonstrated management and delivery of large capital projects.
- Knowledge and understanding of Data Integrity and how it applies to the BioTech Industry with specific focus on guidelines from the FDA.
