Responsible for managing all facets of news production for KTTV's evening broadcasts and sports segments. The successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership qualities, possess exceptional editorial insight, and have substantial experience as a Senior Producer in a competitive market. This role demands the ability to supervise a large team dedicated to delivering high-quality news and sports content, adhering to the utmost standards of journalism and production excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the planning and execution of news segments, ensuring content is relevant and engaging.
- Directly manage producers, news crews, and production personnel, providing guidance and support.
- Approve scripts and edit copy to maintain high editorial standards.
- Engage in strategic story planning and future content development.
- Lead social media initiatives to enhance audience engagement.
- Conduct program critiques and staff evaluations to foster continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in newsroom management, specifically as a Senior Producer in a medium to large market.
- Outstanding news judgment along with strong writing and editing capabilities.
- Exceptional creativity and organizational skills are essential; must possess robust production and technical knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
