Position Overview

The Customer Service Desk serves as the initial point of contact for our valued customers. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Role Summary:

The customer service desk team welcomes patrons as they enter the store, manages incoming calls, and addresses customer inquiries, comments, and complaints, involving management when necessary. The team is responsible for processing and updating requests for our loyalty program, the Perx Card. Customer service associates also handle New York State Lottery transactions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Additionally, the team efficiently processes cash transactions, including various payment methods, discounts, EBT, WIC, coupons, and store promotions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Availability for part-time work, including at least two afternoons/evenings during the week and one weekend day.
  • A minimum of two years of friendly and customer-oriented service experience; cashiering experience is mandatory; prior lead/key holder experience is a plus.
  • Experience in grocery or retail environments is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
  • A highly motivated individual who thrives in a team setting but can also work independently.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Focused and efficient in task execution.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
