The produce clerk position is an essential part of our produce team They provide customers with quality fresh fruits and vegetables in a friendly and courteous manner, ensuring repeat visits to our stores.

Essential duties
The produce clerk plays an important role in the ongoing functions of the produce department. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:

Asks customers if they need assistance and suggests additional sales in the produce department;

Accurately packages, prices, and stocks products within the department;

Monitors products being stocked to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations;

Maintains a thorough knowledge of products, ingredients, and services provided by the department;

Cuts and packages fruits and vegetables for prepared foods service;

Ensures State and County safety and sanitation standards are met with all equipment, surfaces, and floors within the department and the proper methods are used when handling food.


What we look for in you:

The ability to work Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday morning/afternoon

At least 1 year of friendly and welcoming customer service;

Grocery and/or retail experience preferred;

Exceptional communication skills;

Highly motivated individual with the ability to multi-task;

Team player with the ability to work independently at times;

Focused and efficient;

The ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time
