Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Server to join our team at Biltmore. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests, ensuring that every meal is prepared to perfection and every guest leaves feeling satisfied.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process guest orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring that all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis.
  • Present, open, and pour wine when serving guests, showcasing your knowledge of our wine list.
  • Observe diners to ensure that guests are satisfied with the food and service, responding to additional requests and determining when the meal has been completed.
  • Total bills and accept payment or refer guests to supervisors, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of our complete menu and beverages, up-selling menu items and beverages accordingly to enhance the guest experience.
  • Work effectively with the P.O.S. system, following guidelines to ensure accurate and efficient transactions.
  • Ensure that the required uniform is kept clean, neatly pressed, and in good repair, presenting a professional image at all times.
  • Arrive ready to start work properly attired, with full uniform and appropriate footwear.
  • Ensure cutlery, china, and glassware are spotless before setting on tables, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Work nights, weekends, and potential holidays, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to meeting the needs of our guests.
  • May assist the bus person with stocking, removing, and resetting dishes and silverware between courses, cleaning and resetting vacated tables to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Ensure all side duties are fully completed prior to the end of the shift, as outlined and in readiness for the next meal period.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with the goals, culture, service standards, and fundamental values of Biltmore, maintaining a clean working environment where sanitation, health, and safety standards are never compromised.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant is essential, with a minimum of six months of related restaurant experience in a fine dining/upscale setting, preferably in a multi-unit resort.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering world-class guest service and anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Excellent guest relation and communications skills are a must, with the ability to offer warm, sincere, and gracious hospitality to guests.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a variety of guest service situations in a manner consistent with Biltmore standards.
  • Terrific attention to details, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, guest service environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to be comfortable and able to offer warm, sincere, and gracious hospitality to guests, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull 25-50 pounds; lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand, bent in reverse 90 degrees.
  • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • The employee may work in a restaurant or kitchen environment, with the ability to work in hot interior or exterior areas.
  • May often serve in hot interior or exterior areas, and may work double shifts based on business demands.
