Position Overview
As an Aquatic Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons in the aquatic environment. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Uphold and enforce safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain order and discipline within the swimming area.
• Perform rescues for individuals in distress.
• Provide first aid and administer CPR as necessary.
• Participate in routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct tests for chlorine and acid levels to ensure water quality.
Qualifications and Certifications
• Valid Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross.
• Certifications in First Aid, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and CPR.
• Background check may be required.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must possess the ability to:
• Read and write in English.
• Communicate effectively with team members and guests, with or without communication devices.
• Follow and provide clear verbal and written instructions.
• Visually assess all areas, including pools and surrounding grounds.
• Engage in frequent walking, sitting, and verbal communication.
• Work outdoors, swim, and handle various tools and equipment.
• Occasionally lift and/or move weights up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting of 50 pounds and constant handling of 20 pounds.
• Demonstrate swimming proficiency and perform all necessary rescue techniques, including backboard rescues and deep-water lifts.
• Specific vision capabilities are required, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work hours may vary, including evenings and weekends. The role involves exposure to both indoor and outdoor conditions, with potential exposure to inclement weather and chemicals.
Equipment Utilized
Familiarity with water treatment systems, filtration equipment, safety gear, and basic maintenance tools is essential. Proficiency in using personal computers and standard office equipment is also required.
