Facilities Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Monadnock Regional School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining attractive facilities, performing custodial duties, and overall building and grounds maintenance and repair.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain facilities and grounds to ensure a clean and safe learning and working environment
- Perform ongoing facility maintenance, including stripping and finishing floors, carpet care, moving furniture, painting, and other tasks
- Wash windows, screens, sills, woodwork, doors, lockers, desks, walls, and ceilings
- Order and stock necessary materials and supplies
- Clean assigned facilities and/or grounds, including classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, and grounds
- Replenish supplies, including paper towels, soaps, and other essentials
- Provide maintenance and minor repairs to buildings and grounds equipment, classroom furniture, and facilities
- Collect and dispose of waste
- Remove snow as needed
- Maintain outside sidewalks
- Assist in keeping outside premises in orderly condition
- Perform minor, job-related, maintenance on building and grounds equipment, classroom furniture, and facilities
- Perform some repairs and maintenance of buildings
- Mow and fertilize lawns, and plant and maintain flower beds, irrigate and maintain irrigation systems
- Trim trees and spray for insects
- Maintain athletic fields and all district-owned properties
- Prepare the site for daily operations, including opening gates, raising flags, sweeping walkways, and other tasks
- Set up and take down tables and chairs for classes and programs
- Attend department staff meetings, in-service training, workshops, and other events
- Secure facilities and grounds, including doors, gates, alarms, lights, and other security measures
- Support other staff members to complete site activities
- Maintain professional relations with co-workers, building staff, students, and the public
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment used in industrial maintenance, including electrical cleaning equipment, common or hand tools, and other equipment
- Ability to adhere to safety practices and procedures
- Knowledge of methods in industrial cleaning, general maintenance and repair methods, safety practices and procedures, tools and equipment utilized in grounds maintenance, and basic tools utilized in building maintenance
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities, communicate with diverse groups, meet deadlines and schedules, work as part of a team, work with constant interruptions, understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions, make routine decisions independently, and sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity
