Senior Water Resource Engineer Job Description

YU & Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resource Engineer to lead our water resource projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support various phases of water/wastewater design projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, opinions, and recommendations based on research, analysis, and interpretation of studies.
  • Manage Water Resource aspects of project budgets and deadlines.
  • Lead project design efforts, and/or design team coordination.
  • Drafting and designing plans as necessary utilizing Civil3D software.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and maintain positive relationships.
  • Responsible for meeting internal and/or external deadlines.
  • Coordinating with other teams or groups to assure resource management for all projects or tasks.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to water resource engineering.
  • Support and participate in the development and mentorship of staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, concentration in Water Resources preferred.
  • PE License in New Jersey and/or New York required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in stormwater management systems, wastewater/sanitary systems, and project permitting is required.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Skilled with CAD/Design Software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3d, Inroads/Openroads).
  • Knowledge of stormwater modeling software such as CivilStorm or StormCAD required.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrology and stormwater and green infrastructure design.
