We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Registered Nurse in our ICU, you will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Monitor and manage patient's vital signs, medication, and treatment plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure by reciprocal agreement.
- 1 year of experience in critical care nursing, preferably in an ICU setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Nationally certified in critical care nursing.
- Experience with trauma nursing and emergency medical procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions. The nurse must be able to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment, and work in a variety of physical positions, including standing, sitting, and bending.
