Position Summary

The primary role of the Welding Equipment Service Technician is to deliver expert technical support and service for welding and metalworking machinery, ensuring optimal performance for our customers and assisting our sales team.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Service Manager in Lynchburg.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the welding and metalworking equipment offered by Arc3, including troubleshooting and repair techniques to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize your technical expertise and product knowledge to provide exceptional service and support to our clients.
  • Assist customers in maximizing their operational efficiency by ensuring their equipment functions at peak performance.
  • Continuously assess customer needs and relay important information to relevant team members.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and foster long-term relationships with clients through reliability and integrity.
  • Participate in various tasks to ensure seamless customer service, including in-branch assistance when necessary.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and enhance your repair skills through ongoing training.
  • Travel to designated locations for service calls and maintain proficiency with various diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on Arc3-owned welding equipment and assist with installation and delivery as required.
  • Keep the service area organized and participate in inventory management.
  • Occasionally provide backup support for transportation needs and perform basic maintenance on company vehicles.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork as required by the company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Technical education in fields such as welding technology or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Certification as a Service Technician is advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronics fields is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics is preferred.
  • Experience with pneumatic or hydraulic systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effective project coordination.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Possession of a Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement, or the ability to obtain one, is necessary.

Working Environment

  • Involves frequent physical activity, including lifting and moving materials.
  • Work settings include service shops, retail environments, and gas distribution facilities.
  • Daily travel to various locations is expected.
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free environment.
