Job Summary

As a Content Strategist, Medical Writer at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will play a vital role in optimizing our consumer website content to drive traffic and conversions within our Care Transformation Services. This includes writing compelling web content, interviewing physicians and stakeholders, and distilling complex medical technologies into plain language for consumers. You will work closely with the marketing, digital, and video teams to visually enhance our web content and establish productive relationships with leadership, patients, and physicians. Responsibilities

  • Write engaging web content that adheres to SEO best practices and our organization's web content template.
  • Conduct regular interviews with physicians and stakeholders to ensure the latest innovations and research developments are highlighted on our website.
  • Transform complex medical technologies and research into consumer-friendly content that resonates with our audience.
  • Maintain a schedule and process to ensure our web presence for Hackensack Meridian Health's Care Transformation Services is updated regularly with the latest information.
  • Collaborate with the creative services and content team to visually enhance our web content through the use of video, infographics, and photography.
  • Support the content team with writing and content development projects as needed, including HealthU blog and magazine content, social media copy, and other internal or external communications.
  • Establish goals, metrics, and deliverables to measure the effectiveness of web content updates.
  • Engage in meaningful interviews and dialogues with leadership, patients, and physicians.
  • Work closely with marketing, digital, and video team members.
  • Source and manage relationships with outside agencies and vendors as necessary.
  • Stay current with emerging content marketing strategies and tactics, applying them as appropriate.
  • Provide consistent, reliable, and high-quality internal customer service.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or English.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven medical writing and editing experience, with samples of various forms and styles of copy.
  • Expertise and passion for health and wellness communications.
  • Strong proofing and grammar skills.
  • Knowledge and comfort using digital tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Understanding of how people access and consume content on digital platforms.
  • Understanding of best practices for writing for SEO.
  • Interpersonal skills are important due to the nature of the position.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to write strong headlines and compelling copy.
  • Comfortable with all Google Suite applications.
  • Understanding of digital/social platforms and how to prepare, post, and position copy for appropriate audiences.
  • Undying curiosity about what we do, the healthcare industry, and the customers we engage with.
  • Comfortable in an exciting, high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
  • Positive and proactive attitude; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in a corporate environment.
