Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our Electrical Department at our Wheatland Tube division in Rochelle, IL. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our electrical agent network and handle all aspects of customer service, from inquiry and quote to order placement and shipment.

Nature and Scope

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and processing orders for electrical conduit and fittings
  • Receiving orders, checking for accuracy, and transmitting orders to the appropriate mill based on product availability and geographic location
  • Working with the Shipping and Traffic department to meet customer shipping requirements
  • Collaborating with agent warehouse personnel on paperwork and orders
  • Expediting orders and advising delivery times and product availability
  • Resolving problems that arise on orders and shipments
  • Working with Regional Managers and Sales Representatives to handle customer requirements for House accounts
  • Providing backup support for other customer service representatives as needed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum Associate Degree or 3+ years of customer service/inside sales experience
  • Experience in the electrical industry is preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good math aptitude and excellent organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Sound decision-making ability in a fast-paced environment
