Job Title: Shift Lead

At Sherman Associates, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Lead to join our team. As a Shift Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of dedicated employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist management in monitoring day-to-day activities of team members.
  • Assign responsibilities to team members before and throughout the shift.
  • Manage multiple priorities, think/act quickly and effectively while maintaining self-composure.
  • Model and act in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
  • Support Store Manager in ordering, scheduling, payroll, and accounting.
  • Take and fill customer orders, providing quality beverages, whole bean, and food products that meet all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Drive for result with ongoing promotions and achieving store goals.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
  • Execute store operations during scheduled shifts. Organize opening and closing duties as assigned. Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees during each shift.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and smooth operation of the store (wipes tables, sweeps floors, throws garbage away, and straightens out tables, maintains cleanliness in public restrooms: clean mirror and sink, sweep, stock soap, hand towels, and toilet paper).
  • Know when to escalate situations for management intervention.
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months supervisory/lead experience.
  • 2+ years of previous restaurant/hospitality/coffee experience is strongly preferred.
  • A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates.
  • Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the store.
