Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and direct the movement of public transit vehicles, ensuring timely and safe transportation of passengers.
- Supervise and train transit operators, radio dispatchers, and support personnel to ensure compliance with operating standards and procedures.
- Monitor and control the Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) system, ensuring accurate tracking and scheduling of vehicles.
- Respond to emergencies and special needs, providing effective communication and coordination with transit operators and other stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve complaints and incidents, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with maintenance and risk management departments to manage incidents and ensure safe operations.
- Prepare and generate reports, including daily and special reports, to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in transportation, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation or a related field, with a focus on supervision and leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and initiative.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in computerized systems, including AVL and radio dispatch systems.
The Transportation Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with transit operators, dispatchers, and other stakeholders. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
